Tiered cakes
Weddings, milestones and big celebrations.
Each tiered cake shows its total mud-cake serves in its size option.
Three-tier cakes can have a different flavour in each tier.
Vanilla sponge can’t be the bottom tier of a three-tier cake or a very tall two-tier cake. It isn’t firm enough to hold the tiers above.
Tips for choosing your size
- Count your guests, then decide on dessert or coffee portions.
- Pick your flavour, shape and height above to see the right serves.
- Between two sizes, or need guaranteed slices? Go for the larger size.
- Ordering vanilla sponge? Use the vanilla figures here, not the number in the size option.

Serving sizes are approximate and depend on the cake flavour, design and how the cake is cut. Mud cakes are firm enough for dessert or smaller coffee portions. Vanilla sponge is lighter and softer, so it must be cut into larger pieces and will generally provide fewer servings. Coffee-sized portions are not recommended for vanilla sponge. Please use the relevant flavour table when selecting a cake size for your required number of guests. Tall and novelty designs may have different serving ranges from standard-height cakes.
