Champagne Gold Bubble Cake

I wanted to order a special cake for my mum, who was celebrating both her 70th birthday and 50th wedding anniversary in the same week—a truly significant milestone. Having lost Dad to dementia just a few months ago, it’s been a difficult few years for her, to say the least.

Annie created something beyond what I imagined. The moment Mum saw the cake, she was visibly emotional and amazed. Annie had included a delicate, edible print of my parents' wedding photo on the side of the cake, alongside a small acrylic “50th Anniversary” detail. On top sat a stunning “Happy Birthday 70” acrylic topper, tying the entire design together beautifully.

The cake itself was a vintage sponge with layers of vanilla buttercream—simple, elegant, and absolutely delicious.
